It's All Wrong
Right or Wrong
This is a non-exhaustive list of things we humans do, or have done, wrong. Just an observation. What do you think? Anything to add?
- Cupidity and apathy guiding too many decisions.
- The way we grow our food. Poor soil stewardship. Poor food choices and preparation. Too much meat.
- Very poor food distribution and too much food waste.
- Not ensuring quality, nutritious food available for all.
- Poor and improper footwear.
- Women generally don't need and should probably not wear bras.
- Most of us don't poo properly.
- Not willing to share.
- Building countries around automobiles instead of mass forms of transportation.
- Much too willing to introduce pollution and toxins into our environment and our bodies.
- Established and promoted disease-care the world over rather than healthcare.
- Fostered a world of drug dependency and addiction (largely due to the legal drug trade and inequality).
- In the name of progress, allowed ourselves to become completely dependent on fossil fuels.
- No attempt to keep world population low and stable.
- Sleep on the wrong type of bed.
- Planned obsolescence.
- Giving corporations "person" status.
- Land ownership (then taxing it wrong, i.e. property vs land value taxation).
- Housing as an investment. It can't be both affordable and a good investment.
- Celebrity worship of all kinds.
- Valuing currency more than labour.
- Interest on currency.
- Having and using currency instead of money.
- Modern monetary theory. (Just a method to get something from nothing and transfer wealth from the many to the few.)
- Putting too much faith in food and drug clinical studies (most aren't done properly).
- Not treating sugar and high fructose syrups as high dose poisons.
- Believing in a God or Gods and establishing religious institutions.
- Reckless use and abuse of the planet's ecosystems.
- Dangerous and ineffective vaccines.
- Education systems (just about everywhere), teaching methods and curricula.
- Labour practices, standards and laws. (All geared towards economic growth and wage slavery.)
- Economic growth.
- Town and city planning.
- Not having free mass transit, healthcare and education for all.
- Not prioritizing clean, decent housing for all.
- Building codes and bylaws that don't do enough to accommodate those with mobility issues. (We are all gimps at some point in time.)
- Political systems and politics. Expecting heads of political parties to be leaders.
- Non-holistic approach to medical treatment.
- Creating a need for accountants and lawyers.
- Too much emphasis on work and not enough on leisure. (Why 40 hour work weeks?)
- Banks and bankers. (Blame, for most of our modern ills, rests here.)
The thing to remember; to keep foremost in our minds, is that we are here purely by chance. There is no reason for us to be here and we aren't around for very long. Our only purpose, as a species, is to survive as long as possible. Let's choose a pleasant way of life instead of drudgery. Let's choose to do things right.
